De 10e PUMA plenaire jaarbijeenkomst vindt plaats op donderdag 26 maart 2026. De bijeenkomst is Live Hybride. U kunt dus fysiek meedoen op locatie of – eveneens interactief – online vanaf uw eigen werkplek waar dan ook.

13:00 – 13:15 | Welcome and introduction
Opening of the meeting with a short introduction to the objectives of the day and the role of the PUMA community in addressing packaging sustainability challenges.
 
13:15 – 13:45 | 10 years of PUMA: past – present – future
Overview of the PUMA project’s achievements over the past decade, the current situation in packaging sustainability and the expected developments for the coming ten years.
 
13:45 – 14:15 | Legislation & Regulations update
An update will be given on the EU PPWR and related legislation, including key targets and insights from recent PUMA member meetings on regulatory developments and implications for the value chain.
 
14:15 – 14:30 | Short break, coffee & tea
Time to refresh, network and exchange initial impressions with fellow participants.
 
14:30 – 15:30 | Recycled Content: Availability, Quality & Safety
Guest speakers will share how their companies or organisations are making packaging more sustainable, e.g. by increasing recycled content in packaging and reducing packaging going to waste. They will discuss the practical challenges they encounter. Increasing the use of recycled materials, particularly plastics, is a key objective, but is challenged by limited availability, higher costs compared to virgin materials and variable quality, especially for food-contact applications.
 
15:30 – 15:45 | Introduction to workshop (on-site participants only)
Explanation of the interactive sessions and key discussion themes related to making packaging more sustainable over the next decade.
 
15:45 – 16:15 | Break-out sessions / workshops
Participants discuss in groups the main challenges their organisations face in areas such as prevention, reuse, recyclability, recycled content and labelling, and explore implications for the coming ten years.
 
16:15 – 16:45 | Debate – Q&A’s – Panel discussion
Presentation of group findings followed by a panel discussion in which experts respond to questions and reflect on the key topics raised.
 
16:45 – 17:00 | Summary, wrap-up and PUMA scope and actions 2026–2036
Joint wrap-up of the day’s outcomes and identification of priority themes and actions for the PUMA project for the next decade.
 
17:00 – 18:00 | After-party with informal talks and drinks
Networking opportunity to meet speakers and participants and continue discussions in an informal setting.
